Ever since I could dress myself, i was a fanatic for fashion. My doodles evolved into sketch designs by the time I went to college. I loved to get lost in patterns and imagine what it would be like to bring my ideas to life. I continued to doodle and design as I pursued a career in education.

Even in the classroom I was very aware of the importance of being fashionably practical and polished! After fulfilling years as a teacher, I left education to dedicate my energy to raising a family but my motivation to pursue a second career never dulled. I pursued a job as a stylist at Neiman Marcus and found success and personal fulfillment in every session.

Then the pandemic hit and it was a reset for the industry and my family. I stepped away from officially styling and came back to my doodles as I watched my kids zoom-school.

My doodles developed into a fashion line in 2021 and I was flooded with ideas for practical and polished pieces. I spent hours at fabric shops and speaking to seamstresses and ultimately trying to find a niche for myself. Penny Kaye Designs was launched with the aspiration to feel beautiful from the sand on the beach to sipping cocktails before dinner.
